The police claimed that the warning had come only a few minutes before the bomb exploded. In 1989 Troitiño and Ernaga were given sentences of 794 years in prison and fined more than 1,000 million pesetas. In 2003 Simón was sentenced to 790 years in prison for his role in the attack.
